Susan Buret works with pattern in extended pictorial space to explore themes of globalization and the establishment of agency in domestic space. In this exhibition Buret extends her exploration beyond the quadrilateral grid to explore patterns using radial symmetry referencing and repersonalising the circle top of Ikea’s ubiquitous Frosta stool.

Susan lives in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. She is a multi-disciplinary artist working across painting, textiles and installation. Susan has BA (Psychology) from the University of Queensland and a MPhil (Visual Arts) from the ANU. She is currently a visiting fellow with the School of Applied Mathematics, ANU, where she is undertaking collaborative research into pattern and hyperbolic geometry.
